It’s been another quiet week, but with this being Thanksgiving week in the US, that makes sense, doesn’t it. Still found some really interesting stuff in the world of WordPress for you to check out and learn from. Especially if you want a deep-dive in CSS Grid.
Anyway, let’s jump in!
🗞️ Within WordPress News
Here’s what I saw happening this past week:
We’ve got a new list of things WordPress developers will want to know. This list includes a lot of stuff that’s added to WordPress 6.7. Things like Content Only Editing, Fields package, and updated SavePost filters and much more. Go do that deep dive, you know you should 😉
- BlueSky has seen many people move over to it from X over the last couple of weeks. Among them are a lot of WordPress folks. In that light, I’d like to share a couple of BlueSky related things:
Autoblue is a new WordPress plugin for Bluesky. It allows you to automatically share your WordPress posts to Bluesky, and display likes and replies from Bluesky on your site. I especially love that last sentence! Find me on BlueSky as well now! - Scroll down to the Interesting Finds section for a cool app to work with BlueSky, Threads, and Mastodon!
- The 2025 CloudFest Hackathon is now accepting applications, but don’t wait too long! The first registration wave closes on November 30 (tomorrow!). Spots are limited, so act fast and secure your place today!
- Corey Maass shared an updated site for his wonderful OMGIMG plugin. You should check it out if you’re interested in a plugin that automatically create images for your WordPress content and get more engagement.
- Human Made introduced the Query Loop Filter. This open-source plugin lets you add dynamic filtering to WordPress Query Loop blocks—no core code changes needed.
- WooCommerce is asking for feedback for what the future of their transactional emails should look like.
- Here’s a fun little plugin that does allows you to create Notes in WordPress. Noted! is a user-friendly note-taking plugin that allows Admin users to create and manage notes directly in WordPress. Cool plugin by Kyle van Deusen.
- Tom McFarlin got back to a previous article he wrote on ChatGPT. It’s a good read: Maybe ChatGPT Didn’t Wreck Our Type of Content.
- One of my favorite performance solutions is NitroPack, and you should definitely check out their Black Friday promotion. They are offering 20% off on monthly plans & 37% off on yearly plans.
What I like about NitroPack is that they put all their performance optimizations in front of your WordPress site so that your server has way less to do!
🚀 Performance & Security
- Replacing Redis with SQLite? Extremely wild idea, but it turns out to be way faster!

Carrie Dils released a brand-spanking new course on CSS called CSS: Advanced Layouts with Grid. If Grid mystifies you (or makes you want to hurl your computer out of a window), this course has you covered.
💡 Interesting Finds
- Google Search Console Recommendations are now available to everyone! You’ll see them only if we have a recommendation available for your website, but check it out.
- Tired of having to check three different apps to keep up to date with BlueSky, Mastodon, and Threads? Well, you can! There’s an app called OpenVibe and it’s just the thing you’ve been looking for. Promise!
That’s it for this week’s edition of Within WordPress. Thanks for reading!
